Are you in a band? Or a solo artist? Are you a singer? Or a drummer? Either way, it doesn’t matter. Welcome! Music plays such a big part in our lives and we at the 11Eleven Project want to utilise your talents!
On 11/11/11, we want you to record a piece of music for us. We don’t mind what genre you’re part of, what you sing about, we just want you to create something that you’d be proud for the world to hear! Your song must align with one of our 11 topics, although we don’t want you to feel constricted by these – they are totally open to interpretation! Just to remind you, our 11 topics are: Beginnings; Make A Wish; Play; Courage; Routine; Beauty; Water; Darkness; Faith; Heartbreak and Love.
As with the other methods of contributing, we will need your submission by November 22, giving you 11 days to submit your recording but make sure you record your song on 11/11/11!
So you’ve recorded your track, now what do you do with it? There are 2 simple steps which will answer that question!
Step 1
Upload your song to SoundCloud
NOW HERE’S THE IMPORTANT BIT – THATS WHY WE’VE CAPITALISED IT AND MADE IT BOLD.
When labelling your work on SoundCloud make sure you add #11ElevenLive to you title and in your tags…. in fact feel free to use it as many times as you want, but at least use it once.
Once you’ve uploaded give yourself a pat on the back and say, “I’m awesome for being a musician!”
Step 2
Go to www.11elevenproject.com and click on SUBMIT. Follow the step by step process which will ask you a series of questions about yourself and your clip. Only once you’ve submitted at the www.11elevenproject.com website can we use your song. No formal submission = no opportunity for your work to be heard around the world….so make sure you submit!
Now here’s the other most important thing you need to know – hence why we’ve bolded it again - PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, make sure you keep your original video…. whether its on a tape or hardrive or in a can, please make sure you keep it and keep it somewhere safe. The reason for this is because the original is the best quality we can use. And we want to have the best quality version that we can!
